Measured Drawings For
more than forty years Charles Tunnicliffe spent many hours creating a
personal
reference collection of measured drawings, accurate to a millimetre, to
provide him with
an accurate source reference material for his wonderful paintings of
birds and animals.
The drawings were made from dead specimens, sent to him by people
who knew about
his skills and dedication as a great wildlife artist.
In 1974 Charles agreed, with the support and encouragement of Kyffin
Williams, to let a
large part of the collection to be put on show in a special Royal
Academy Summer Exhibition
