HOLLINHEY SCHOOL Hollinhey
School, at Sutton Lane Ends near Macclesfield, has strong links with
Charles Tunnicliffe and his family - the school is sited on one of the
fields that once belonged
to Lane Ends Farm, where the Tunnicliffe family lived during Charles'
childhood and youth.
Much of Charles Tunnicliffe's early artwork is a record of his family
at work on the farm,
together with images of rural life, nature and the countryside around
Sutton & Macclesfield.
Hollinhey School 'Tunnicliffe Art
Competition'
The 25th anniversary of
this competition took place on the 24th June 2008, and was
supported by several members of the Tunnicliffe family, The Charles
Tunnicliffe Society
and many of the parents. On the same afternoon the whole school
put on a performance
of 'Wind in the Willows' - which was a very enjoyable event.
