Books & Book Covers The precise number of books that Charles Tunnicliffe illustrated is not known, but at least 300 either contained his illustrations or had dust-jackets designed by him. In 1932 his book-illustration work began with 'Tarka the Otter', followed by four more books for Henry Williamson in 1933. Then in 1934 four more books published by Putnam, including 'Beasts Royal' and 'Tales from Ebony'. CFT's artwork continued to appear on dust-jackets and in several new books per year throughout the late 1930s, 1940s, 1950s, 1960s and 1970s. Just a few of the books: Quite a number of books containing CFT's artwork were published after his death in 1979. .... |
