At the Royal College of Art Chaeles Tunicliffe stayed on to study in the School of Engraving.
He then stayed on in London for three more years to create and sell limited edition etchings.
He returned to Macclesfield in 1928 and continued to create more etchings, working from his
back-garden studio, but the etchings market declined rapidly during the 1930 financial slump.
